In their article entitled “Disrupting Assimilationist Research Principles and Practices in Australia and Sweden: Self-Determination through the Enactment of Indigenous Diplomacies,” Daniels-Mayes and MacNeil argue that research informed by indigenous diplomatic practices, such as reindeer diplomacy, can disrupt assimilationist research agendas and facilitate self-determining research.
