ELMP had a strong presence at the 2015 American Educational Research Association conference. Faculty and students alike presented research, served as panelists, and networked with other academic professionals throughout the world.

Dr. Robert Kelchen, an invited presenter, offered his experience of the recent Chicago conference:  “I presented a paper that I wrote with Dr. Luke Stedrak (a faculty member in the K-12 portion of ELMP)  examining whether state performance-based funding policies affect how colleges get revenue or how they allocate those funds. AERA is an enormous conference, with about 15,000 to 20,000 education researchers from around the world attending each year. This comes with great professional development opportunities for graduate students, but the size is also overwhelming for many people. AERA will be in Washington, DC next year, providing a great opportunity to network with people doing policy-relevant work as well as many people working at foundations, research organizations, and think tanks.”
