March 2016: Congratulations!

CONGRATULATIONS!
Sarah A. Andrews, master’s student, accepted the Operations Advisor position for the University’s Alpha Delta Chapter of Delta Phi Epsilon sorority.  Sarah is an alumna of the Beta Lambda Chapter in Stevens Point, WI.

Katherine Aquino, doctoral candidate, will attend the Association on Higher Education and Disability’s (AHEAD) upcoming conference titled “Toward Equity & Access: Illuminating the Pathways AHEAD”.  Katie had two posters accepted for presentation, including

  • Disability—Diversity Development: Investigating the Role of the Postsecondary Administrator
  • Postsecondary Students Receiving SSI/SSDI: Impact of Academic Achievement on Job Attainment

Dr. Gerard Babo, Assistant Professor, received the College of Education and Human Services’ Teacher of the Year distinction.  He will be recognized later this semester at a University-wide gathering honoring excellence in teaching and research.

Stephanie Benson, doctoral student, will present at the Tri-States Best Practices Conference on March 5 at Bergen Community College.  Stephanie will make a presentation titled “Using the NGSS to Enhance Critical Thinking and Analysis Skills in High School Biology Students.” John Irwin, doctoral student, recently published two articles-

  • Irwin, J., (in press). Academic libraries, veterans, and for-profit higher education: Exploiting the vulnerable. Progressive Librarian.
  • Rose-Wiles, L., & Irwin, J. (in press). An old horse revived? A preliminary study of in-house use of print books at Seton Hall University. Journal of Academic Librarianship

Daria Pizzuto, doctoral student, presented a poster, “Engaging Your Student: Exploring Evidence-Based Strategies” at the Conference in Higher Education Pedagogy,” at Virginia Tech on February 10-12.
