March 2014: Japan Week 2014

Dr. Martin Finkelstein, currently on sabbatical, serves as our department representative on the Japan Week 2014 committee.  Japan Week runs from April 2 – 11, 2014.  This week-long event provides students the opportunity to build a bridge between cultures that enables the sharing of knowledge and experiences of Japan through lectures, symposia, workshops, events, and awards  This event provides an atmosphere conducive to a greater understanding of Japan and its people, further advancing work towards building a more peaceful global community.  All events are open to the public and free of charge.

The event is sponsored by Seton Hall’s Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures, College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Office, Office of International Programs, Language Resource Center, Asian Studies Association, J.C.C. Fund of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of New York, JETRO New York, the Consulate General of Japan in New York, and the Japan National Tourist Organization.
