February 2016: Staying Current with HRED News

STAYING CURRENT WITH HRED NEWS

How do you stay current with Higher Education news?  Did you know there are several print and online publications that offer daily digests of research, policy, and practical issues facing higher education?  Many of these publications offer email recaps at no cost.
– The Chronicle of Higher Education (chronicle.com) is a top print and online source of news, information, and jobs for college and university faculty members and administrators.  Subscribe to the Chronicle’s free daily e-newsletter, Academe.  Did you know that as a SHU student, you have a free subscription to the Chronicle via Walsh Library?  For more details, visit Walsh Library online.
– Inside Higher Ed (insidehighered.com) is an online source of news, opinions, and jobs for all higher education stakeholders.  There are special sections for graduate students and aspiring higher education professionals.  Some sections of Inside Higher Ed include breaking news, feature stories, commentary, career advice, and more.  Subscribe to Inside Higher Ed’s News Update for the latest updates.  Free subscriptions include daily, weekly, and monthly options.

Both publications include broad coverage of higher education issues.  In next month’s The Insider, we’ll share specialty sources that exclusively cover specific higher education niches.  Have a favorite higher education news resource you’d like to share?  Email us at HEGSA@shu.edu.
