February 2015: Congratulations

Congratulations!

Taghreed A. Alhaddab, doctoral candidate, was accepted to present her research, “Future Scientists: How Women’s and Minorities’ Math Self-efficacy and Science Preparation Affect their STEM Major Selection” at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ (IEEE) Integrated STEM Education Conference. The conference will be held at Princeton University in March 2015.

Jeff Levine, doctoral student, is currently participating in a project with the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, helping low socio-economic students get better access to college counseling at the Foundation’s headquarters.

Sofia B. Pertuz, doctoral student and Dean of Students/ Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs at Hofstra University, presented “Exploring the Work Experiences and Career Aspirations of Latino Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education” for Latinas in Higher Education on January 16, 2015.

Ryan Westman & Monica Burnette, doctoral students, recently presented with their colleagues from the University of Arkansas at the inaugural NCAA Accelerating Academic Success Program in New Orleans, LA in December 2014. They were invited by the NCAA following a previous presentation at the NACDA conference.

Tong Wang, recent graduate of the master’s program, accepted a position with Rutgers University—New Brunswick Campus as an Administrative Assistant for the Department of Dance in the Mason Gross School of the Arts.
