The purpose of  the Jacob K. Javits Gifted and Talented
Students Education (Javits) program is  to carry out a coordinated program of  scientifically based research,  demonstration projects, innovative  strategies, and similar activities  designed to build and enhance the  ability of elementary and secondary  schools nationwide to meet the special  educational needs of gifted and talented
students.

Type of Award: Discretionary grants.

Estimated Available Funds:  $4,000,000.
Contingent upon the availability of  funds and the quality of applications, Additional awards in FY  2015 from the list of unfunded applications from this competition.

Estimated Range of Awards:
$300,000–$500,000.
Estimated Average Size of Awards:
$400,000 per year
