The Wilson Center offers several different scholarships and grants for Ph.D. and post-doctoral research in the fields of social sciences and humanities with a regional focus on Central and Eastern Europe, including the Baltic states.

  • East European Studies Short-term Research Scholarships offer American academic experts and practitioners, including advanced graduate students, the opportunity to engage in specialized research in the humanities or social sciences requiring access to Washington, DC and its research institutions. Grants are for one month and include residence at the Wilson Center. The next deadline for application materials is June 1, 2013.
  • The East European Studies Junior Scholars’ Training Seminar promotes intellectual exchange and development for junior scholars in East European studies. Projects should focus on fields in the social sciences and humanities and highlight their policy relevance. Applications are due April 15, 2013.
  • East European Studies Research Grants offer residential research grants to scholars working on policy relevant projects on East Europe. Projects should focus on fields in the humanities and social sciences. Applications are due December 1, 2013.
