The IBM Center is looking for rigorous public management research and analytic techniques to help public sector executives and managers improve the effectiveness of government.  Proposals should include practical findings and actionable recommendations – not just theory or concepts – in order to assist executives and managers to more effectively respond to mission and management challenges. The Center is specifically interested in the following seven topic areas:

  • Leading in an era of complex challenges
  • Pursuing cost savings and improving performance
  • Managing collaboration and connectivity
  • Managing risk and responding to threats in today’s security environment
  • Using data and analytics to make better decisions
  • Identifying acquisition approaches that more effectively engage the private sector
  • Providing insights for the presidential transition from campaigning to governing

Applicants are expected to produce a 10,000-12,000 word report and will receive a $20,000 stipend per report. The funding cycle deadlines are April 1 and October 1, 2013. For more information, see the link below:
