These AERA Grants stimulate research on U.S. education that uses data from the large-scale, national and international data sets supported by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), NSF, and other federal agencies, and to increase the number of education researchers using these data sets. AERA encourages applications from many disciplines, including education, sociology, economics, psychology, demography, statistics, and psychometrics. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Policies and practices related to student achievement in STEM
  • Contextual factors in education
  • Educational participation and persistence
  • Early childhood education
  • Post-secondary education

Research grants are up to $20,000 for one year projects, or up to $35,000 for two years. Applications are due January 23, 2013. For more information, see the link below:
