These National Library of Medicine (NLM) grants support projects that can advance the science of biomedical informatics in health care and health administration, public health, basic biomedical research, bioinformatics and biological modeling, translational research and health information management in disasters. Proposals can focus on, but are not limited to:

  • Information and knowledge processing
  • Advanced information retrevial
  • Incorporation of machine intelligence into decision tools and resources for healthcare providers, scientists and consumers
  • Information visualization and presentation approaches
  • Innovative approaches for ensuring privacy and security of clinical and biomedical research data
