Religious sisters of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family (S.S.F.)* of New Orleans at St. Martin’s Church, St. Martinville, Louisiana: Henriette Delille, a free woman of African descent, founded the Sisters of the Holy Family in New Orleans in 1842 to serve the poor, primarily by educating youth and caring for the aged.
