Jack Hokeah (ca. 1900-1960)(Kiowa) and an unidentified friend visiting Sister Mary Olivia Taylor (Choctaw-Chickasaw) of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis (Loretto, Pennsylvania)(O.S.F.)* at St. Patrick’s School, Anadarko, Oklahoma: Hokeah, an internationally known painter in an artists’ group called the “Kiowa Five”, received his first art instruction from Sister Olivia, who was his grade school teacher at St. Patrick’s.
