Leadership Program Goes for Fourth Straight National Ranking

Since taking first place and earning the prestigious LEAD award for the third year straight last year, The Gerald P. Buccino ’63 Center for Leadership Development is back firing on cylinders in an effort to keep the win streak alive.
The Leadership and Engagement Awards of Distinction (LEAD) is an annual award that celebrates organizations globally who have strived in implementing leadership development programs. The award ceremony was inspired in partnership with HR.com. Its nominees range from corporations to universities to other organizations and individuals. Seton Hall has consistently topped the list for Certificate Program with Emphasis on Leadership and Organizational Development.
The programs’ winning record has occurred in correlation to a large expansion of the Program itself. Leadership Development has recently welcomed its largest freshman class. Despite the success, however, Director Michael Reuter and the Leadership family understand the importance of humility. The program teaches motivated students a deep understanding of commitment to the servant leadership of people. It pushes students outside of their comfort zone, allowing them to learn more than they ever thought they could.
William Jennings Bryan, 19th century statesman, politician and lawyer said: “Destiny is no matter of chance; it is a matter of choice. It is not something to be waited on; it is something to be achieved.”
The visionary leaders within the Leadership Development Honors Program understand this sentiment deeply and earning the 2018 LEAD award would be a testament to the passion and commitment necessary to shape ones’ destiny and become more than they ever dreamed that they could be.
