Dr. Seuss wrote: “You know that you are in love when you don’t want to fall asleep because the reality is finally better than your dreams.” What richness and beauty these words bring to the depth and joy of a meaningful relationship. Yet, so much more is found in them as they are applied to one’s life’s journey.

Great leaders find in Seuss’ words the reality of the true joy and excitement found in discovering their purpose in life, choosing a career that is their passion and love, finding a path on which whose every step is filled with possibilities … new dreams and challenges to change the world.  It is the actualization of their dreams into reality that, once found, they, too, do not want to fall asleep because “reality is finally better than their dreams.” Remember always the counsel of Colin Powell: “A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.” Make your reality the love of your life. Make your reality more than you ever dreamed it could be. And have fun doing it.
