Pirate Dancers Raise Over $10,000 for The Valerie Fund!
Written By: Melissa Vega
On Friday, February 19 the University Main Lounge was transformed into an enormous fundraising celebration for The Valerie Fund, a non-profit organization which has been assisting children with life threatening illnesses and their families since 1976. The children’s cause energized hundreds of dancers who, for 12 hours straight, embraced the PirateThon motto, “dance because we can, stand for those who can’t.” With this motto in mind, Seton Hall University raised $10,123.00 and counting, for the kids! Executive council members, students, and alumni of the Leadership Development Honors Program generated more than $4,800 for The Valerie Fund, making the Program the top contributor for the 3rd year in a row!
PirateThon would not have been made possible without the assistance of generous donors, who contributed monetary donations, prizes for raffles, food, beverages, and their time.
Special recognition to the PirateThon Board listed below for executing another successful PirateThon featuring: live entertainment, dance performances, activities, food, and several prizes.
