Three Minute Leadership: Create Your Own Images of What Tomorrow May Bring

To: The Great Leaders Who Have a Passion for Continuous Learning.

Dr. Seuss wrote: “Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!” Oh, the beauty, power and joy of imagination. George Bernard Shaw tells us: “Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will.” It happens each morning as we look in the mirror and ask of that magnificent person who looks back at us: What will I imagine to bring to my life this day?

In that moment there is a choice: to imagine our life as having boundless potential and possibilities, or one of limitations and restricted opportunities. For great leaders there is only one choice. They hear Michelangelo’s words: “I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.” They, too, see an image in the marble and they choose to set it free as they open their world to infinite possibilities.

Re-imagine your world and fill the days of your life with wonder. Albert Einstein wrote: “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” His words are beautifully complemented by those of Carl Sagan: “Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were.” See angels in marble and cathedrals in rock piles. Remember J. K. Rowling’s words: “We do not need magic to change the world. We carry all the power we need inside ourselves already: we have the power to imagine better.”

Have a beautiful day and a magnificent week!!!

Mike
