Sophia spoke of how important family is in her life, diversity in the workplace, and becoming a woman leader. She gave insight on what it is like to be viewed as a woman and Indian in a professional environment. To follow up, she gave ideas on how to eliminate diversity in the workplace and in the world. Sophia stressed the role of mentors in a person’s life and suggested that women should reach out to each other more often. Her mother played a large role in her upbringing by teaching her to be an independent woman, and she hopes to help instill these values in her younger brother.
Sophia is a great example of a leader to her peers, and she continues to push the envelope in school and her daily life. You can watch and listen to her radio interview here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VUZaIQL-EM
