Annual Alumni Holiday Fiesta

By: Dhara Patel, Leadership Class of 2014

On Friday, November 30th, the Leadership and Development Honors Program held its 2nd Annual Alumni Holiday Fiesta at Toro Loco, in South Orange, NJ. The holiday event was a great success as over 30 alumni and senior Leadership students, ranging from as far back as the Class of 1999, attended.

The evening progressed with great energy and joy as alumni got the chance to reconnect with their fellow classmates. The off-campus venue for the holiday party allowed the alumni and students to reminisce about their memories in South Orange as well as experience a casual and relaxed holiday atmosphere.

The alumni students were very excited to not only meet their old classmates, but also to connect with current Leadership students. Rich conversations kindled around the fireplace as the alumni got to enjoy a special PowerPoint presentation filled with old pictures depicting their experiences and memories with the Leadership and Development Honors Program.

Michael Reuter, the Director of the Honors Program, stated, “Everyone’s enjoyment of the event was heard in the team’s feedback, faces and voices throughout the evening.”

The success of this event has added even more excitement to the upcoming Alumni events planned for spring semester. The Honors Program is looking forward to once again meet the Leadership alumni during the upcoming Leadership and Development Honors Program sponsored PirateThon and the 3rd Annual Leadership BBQ.
