On Wednesday, February 22, Philosopher & Poet, Elvira Basevich, Ph.D.<\/a> will visit Seton Hall University.<\/p>\n Elvira Basevich, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at UC Davis and a Rockefeller Visiting Faculty Fellow at Princeton University.<\/p>\n Basevich is a Jewish\/Uyghur refugee who was raised in nearby Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, NY. Her poetry collection, How to Love the World<\/em><\/a>, follows her mother\u2019s immigrant journey to the United States. This collection won Plank\u2019s 2019 Big Book Poetry Contest and was a finalist for the 2020 National Jewish Book Award.<\/p>\n As a scholar of philosophy, Basevich centers her work on social and political philosophy.
