\nAccompany your children on a UN Kids Tour<\/a>, offering an opportunity to learn about the UN through interactive games, quizzes and role-playing. Children\u2019s tours will be offered throughout the day, 9:30 am\u20134:45 pm. To purchase tickets, select any Children\u2019s Tour on 20 February. Before or after the tour, children of all ages can also participate in many fun and educational activities in the Visitor Centre, on the lower level of the General Assembly building.

\nSince being named the UN Special Rapporteur on Extreme Poverty and Human Rights in 2014, Philip Alston has investigated extreme poverty in countries as diverse as Ghana, Mauritania, Chile, China, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. In a conversation with former New York Times foreign correspondent Calvin Sims, Alston will share his perspective on what needs to be done to end poverty.

\nThe first of two International Dialogue on Migration (IDM) sessions planned in 2019 will discuss global strategies and partnerships in the area of youth mobility as well as best practices for youth engagement in policy and decision-making processes. Adaptation, integration, and empowerment of young migrants will be explored through an exchange of good practices, lessons learned and recommendations with representatives from all relevant sectors, including young migrants themselves.<\/p>\n

Call for nominations for the Equator Prize 2019<\/strong>
\nThe Equator Prize 2019 will be awarded to outstanding community and indigenous initiatives that are advancing nature-based solutions for local sustainable development. Each winning group will receive USD 10,000 and will be invited to participate in a series of policy dialogues and special events during the United Nations General Assembly and the Secretary-General\u2019s Climate Summit in New York in September 2019, culminating in a high-level award ceremony at the beginning of Climate Week.<\/p>\n

Applications for 2019 UN Global Climate Action Awards Now Open<\/strong>
\nThe award<\/a>, the focus of United Nations Climate Change\u2019s Momentum for Change initiative, recognizes the most innovative projects in the field of climate action.
\nWinning activities encompass scalable and replicable examples of what people are doing to address climate change, in the hope of inspiring others to act. The selected activities will be recognized and celebrated at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 25) in Chile.
