The 2 Billion Kilometres to Safety campaign invites people to act in solidarity and run, walk or cycle to achieve a cumulative total of two billion kilometres. Participants can use their fitness apps or the campaign website \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/stepwithrefugees.org\/en-us\/\">www.stepwithrefugees.org<\/a>\u2013 to log the kilometres and contribute to a global total.<br \/>\nTo join the campaign, please visit the website: <a href=\"https:\/\/stepwithrefugees.org\/en-us\/\">www.stepwithrefugees.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>UN Democracy Fund Call for Project Proposals: Deadline 18 January<\/strong><br \/>\nThe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/democracyfund\/\">UN Democracy Fund (UNDEF)<\/a> supports two-year projects that empower civil society, promote human rights, and encourage the participation of all groups in democratic processes. The large majority of UNDEF funds go to local civil society organizations. Over the past 12 years, UNDEF has supported more than 780 projects in over 120 countries at a total amount of almost US$190 million. It shows the courage and desperate choices Jewish parents made to keep their children alive. Ruth\u2019s diaries and writings provide a searing testimony of creative promise destroyed through the actions of the Nazis and their collaborators and supporters.<\/p>\n<p>This exhibit is organized by the Documentation Centre of Austrian Resistance and the Norwegian Center for Holocaust and Minority Studies with the support of the Permanent Missions of Austria and Norway to the United Nations.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>UN Reports<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>2018 UNODC Global Report on Trafficking in Persons<\/strong><br \/>\nThe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unodc.org\/documents\/data-and-analysis\/glotip\/2018\/GLOTiP_2018_BOOK_web_small.pdf\">2018 UNODC Global Report on Trafficking in Persons<\/a> is the fourth of its kind mandated by the General Assembly through the 2010 United Nations Global Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking in Persons. It covers 142 countries and provides an overview of patterns and flows of trafficking in persons at global, regional and national levels, based primarily on trafficking cases detected between 2014 and 2016.
