DPI-associated NGO Spotlight: The Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies became associated with Department of Public<\/p>\n

Information \/NGO Relations in the spring of 2016. It is an academy for the study of Hindu<\/p>\n

cultures, societies, philosophies, religions, and languages, in all periods and in all parts of<\/p>\n

the world. The academy is dedicated to preserving India\u2019s cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

The OCHS was founded in 1997 as the world\u2019s first academy of its kind for the study of<\/p>\n

Hindu culture. It is not affiliated to any religious or political group. It welcomes staff,<\/p>\n

students, and visitors of all backgrounds. The OCHS is developing a new multidisciplinary<\/p>\n

approach to Hindu Studies that creates a discourse between Indian and Western<\/p>\n

traditions of scholarship as peers.<\/p>\n
