[Crossposted from the originally publication on Seton Hall University, School of Diplomacy and International Relations<\/a>]Seton Hall’s School of Diplomacy and International Relations<\/a> hosted a faculty panel on January 18, 2017 on Seton Hall’s campus in anticipation of the inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss the possible policy changes and potential outcomes of his presidency around the world.<\/p>\n

Cosponsored by the School’s Center for U.N. and Global Governance Studies and the Center for Emerging Powers and Transnational Trends , the panel discussion entitled, “Diplomacy in President Trump’s World: What’s Next?” included observations from Professors Nabeela Alam<\/a>, Sara Moller<\/a>, Benjamin Goldfrank<\/a>, Martin Edwards<\/a>, Ann Marie Murphy<\/a>, and Brian Muzas<\/a>. Panelists discussed a multitude of topics from NATO security and trade to nuclear weapons and the United Nations, offering analytical perspectives on the potential outcomes of Trump’s proposed policies.<\/p>\n

Uncertainty was a recurring theme cited throughout the discussion. While the 45th President shared a number of goals and planned initiatives during his campaign and transition period, his positions contradicted each other at times, generating confusion for international relations scholars, students, and leaders of foreign governments alike. It’s time to wait and see what’s next.<\/p>\n
