Meeting with recruiters offers you a chance to ask questions and expand your knowledge about their organization. Since more than 80% of all job offers are built through networking, you can use your time to stand out as someone who could benefit their organization.”

For the virtual fair day, students will receive the chance to have a guaranteed one-on-one 15-minute session with a recruiter by registering in advance. To register for the fair, go to our new career platform called Handshake.

Moreover, it is highly advised for students to upload a copy of their updated resume to handshake’s Resume Book. The Career Center will be sending these resumes out immediately after the Fair. Additional assistance on how to upload a resume can be attained by scheduling a virtual meeting with your career advisor via COMPASS.

Once accessing the fair, students will be able to see the list of participating employers. The list of employers will continue to grow as the Career Fair approaches, so students should try to check in once in a while to see which new employers will be there.

In preparation for the Fair, The Career Center has assembled the Career Fair Sessions encompassing resume critiques and practicing your elevator pitch/networking. Below are the dates and times for the upcoming Career prep sessions: September 15, 2021, 9am – 12pm and September 20, 1pm – 4pm, near Jubilee Hall, Left of the Entrance. No appointment needed.

This is an incredible time to network with potential future employers and create a compelling brand for yourself. Career Center Assistant Director, Teresitia Walters, also emphasized that the greatest opportunities often arise from personal relationships, yet this is something not developed enough. My best advice to students is to attend all the career events that the university offers. At this career fair, many organizations will be present and this is a great way to practice and build up these new positive relationships.

We love seeing students succeed and blossom in their careers. If there is any need for assistance or advice, please do not hesitate to reach out to careers@shu.edu, and someone will reply promptly. We look forward to seeing you all there!

Click here to register for Career Fair:
In-Person – 9/22: https://events.shu.edu/view/event/event_id/13686
Virtual – 9/29: https://events.shu.edu/view/event/event_id/13687

Contact Teresitia Walters at walterte@shu.edu

Calling all students at Seton Hall University!
