They beat Tennessee in the first round and then just took down\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the likely number one overall pick, Cade Cunningham, and his Oklahoma State squad. The Beavers\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">are going to have to face the best defense they have seen all year. They will rely on the guard duo of Jarrod Lucas and Ethan Thompson to get their offense going. Baylor will likely have lockdown defenders Davion Mitchell and Mark Vital on Villanova\u2019s two stars so they will\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">have to look to others to produce. Furthermore, senior forward Justin Smith, junior guard JD Notae and senior guard Jalen Tate are averaging\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">13.9, 13.1, and 10.5 points per game respectively. Grimes is the American Athletic\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Conference Player of the Year and Jarreau is the league\u2019s Defensive Player of the year. Junior guard Grimes is averaging 18.1 points, 6 rebounds, and <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">1.9 assists per game while Senior Guard Jarreau averages 10.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0Arguably, the more important side of the ball for the Cougars is their defense, on average letting up only 57.9 points per game, second in the nation in that statistic.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Syracuse will do their best to exploit that defense, however, and one possible point of attack will be Jarreau, who played through a hip pointer against Rutgers.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Syracuse has turned on the heat since the start of the ACC tournament and the man behind that fire is Buddy Boeheim, averaging 28.3 points while shooting 60 percent overall. Boeheim\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">is not afraid to shoot from range either, scoring on 24 of 43 3-point attempts.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0Do not make the mistake of calling Syracuse a one<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8211;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">man show though, as Alan Griffin, Robert Baswell, and Quincy Guerrier all look to have big games against the <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Cougars.
