The Hall is now 6-6 in conference play, with a record of 17-8 overall on the season.

Slow Start Hurts the Pirates

The Pirates got off to a really slow start in the first half, and this later proved to cost them, given that their second half efforts were not enough to win this game. The story of the first half was MarcusDerrickson, who reached a double-double in the first 20 minutes of the game, and ended up with 22 points and 18 rebounds, including the game winning 3-pointer.

Delgado’s Mysterious Dislocated Knee

The story for the Pirates was that Angel Delgado, their 6-foot, 10-inch center, was battling a dislocated knee, which he suffered in the first half of the previous game versus. Marquette. Delgado managed 12 points and 12 rebounds on 33 minutes, but was regularly seen on the bench with heat wrapped around the injured knee.

Pirates Get the Lead Back, but Not the Win

Seton Hall was down by 17 at one point during the second half, but they battled back with the help of Desi Rodriguez and Myles Powell. The Pirates took the lead at two different points in the second half, but Georgetown had an answer for every run they pulled off. After Marcus Derrickson’s three with 4.5 seconds remaining, Kevin Willard drew up a great play on the sideline and it was nearly executed to perfection.
