In his time in Charlotte, Curry, much like his two sons, was an excellent three-point shooter, making 40.5 percent of his shots from three. Dell Curry called Charlotte home for more than 10 seasons and has since returned, but his sons have helped keep the family name in basketball.

Steph played his high school basketball at Charlotte Christian before eventually deciding on Davidson college as his next step. He was then drafted 7th overall in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors. Curry has since been one of the most exciting players in the NBA. This season Steph is averaging 28.6 points per game, and is shooting 44.4 percent from three both near the top of the league.

The Curry brothers will face off on Saturday night in the Mountain Dew 3-Point Shooting Contest in their hometown Charlotte, North Carolina.

Seth took a little different path. He followed in his older brother’s footsteps and attended Charlotte Christian for high school. Seth then played one season at Liberty University before eventually transferring to national powerhouse Duke for his final three seasons. After a solid career at Duke, Curry pursued the NBA, but was not selected in the NBA Draft. Curry eventually got a call and made his NBA debut on January 5, 2014 for the Memphis Grizzlies. Since, Seth’s career has been much different from his brothers, playing for six different teams and not playing at all last season. Despite, his journeyman career, Curry has managed to put together a solid season for the Portland Trail Blazers, shooting 46.5 percent from three, and has landed him a spot in the three-point shooting contest with his brother.

The brothers will face off on Saturday night in the Mountain Dew 3-Point Shooting Contest with parents looking on from the stands, but it will be about more than just basketball. Traditionally, NBA All-Star Weekend is fun and entertaining for the audience, but this weekend the Curry’s will get the chance to celebrate family in the city, and state, that saw them grow up to be what they are today.

The city of Charlotte is home to the 2019 NBA All-Star game and all of the festivities that go along with it, but it will be a special weekend for one family – the Curry’s.
