The interview is available on &#8220;<a id=\"https:\/\/www.iheart.com\/podcast\/139-the-beat-of-sports-26936826\/episode\/if-mlb-wants-more-viewers-it-97138492\/|\" href=\"https:\/\/www.iheart.com\/podcast\/139-the-beat-of-sports-26936826\/episode\/if-mlb-wants-more-viewers-it-97138492\/\">The Beat of Sports<\/a>,&#8221;\u00a0a syndicated sports radio show headquartered in Orlando, Florida.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Baseball<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Also reporting on the poll\u2019s findings regarding the speed (or lack thereof) of Major League Baseball was Darren Rovell, who\u00a0<a id=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/darrenrovell\/status\/1526944103992369157|\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/darrenrovell\/status\/1526944103992369157\">Tweeted to his two million followers<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>61% of self-described avid sports fans, in a new\u00a0<a id=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HallSportsPoll|\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HallSportsPoll\">@HallSportsPoll<\/a>, say MLB games are too slow. 66% of avid 18- to 34-year-old sports fans say they would be more likely to watch MLB games if they were shorter.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Soccer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Professor Ladik also appeared in a feature interview with Grant Wahl, considered by many to be the premiere soccer writer in the United States. A portion of that interview is available on\u00a0<a id=\"https:\/\/grantwahl.substack.com\/p\/the-interview-daniel-ladik?s=w|\" href=\"https:\/\/grantwahl.substack.com\/p\/the-interview-daniel-ladik?s=w\">Futbol with Grant Wahl<\/a>\u00a0and the entirety available with a paid subscription.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the Poll&#8217;s findings on soccer, the player&#8217;s association for the US Men&#8217;s National Soccer Team also featured them in an article entitled &#8220;<a id=\"https:\/\/ussoccerplayers.com\/2022\/06\/the-changing-perception-of-soccer-in-the-united-states.html|\" href=\"https:\/\/ussoccerplayers.com\/2022\/06\/the-changing-perception-of-soccer-in-the-united-states.html\">The Changing Perception of Soccer in the United States.<\/a>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Daniel Kaplan from\u00a0<em>The Athletic<\/em>, also reported on the soccer findings,\u00a0<a id=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kaplansportsbiz\/status\/1532102409518043136?s=21&amp;t=rvnZ1nrDelMSqZdu_BcDLA|\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kaplansportsbiz\/status\/1532102409518043136?s=21&amp;t=rvnZ1nrDelMSqZdu_BcDLA\">noting that<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhen told of Qatar&#8217;s human rights record, 51 percent of sports fans say they are less inclined to watch this year&#8217;s World Cup,\u00a0according to a Seton Hall Sports Poll. Maybe, but if USMNT wins some viewership will follow. Bigger issue is conflict with NFL season.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Crypto\/NFTs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Sports Poll also queried the public on cryptocurrency and NFTs, with the findings featured by the\u00a0<em>Sports Business Journal<\/em>\u00a0as its &#8220;<a id=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Daily\/Closing-Bell\/2022\/06\/07\/Daily-Digit.aspx|\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Daily\/Closing-Bell\/2022\/06\/07\/Daily-Digit.aspx\">Daily Digit<\/a>,&#8221;\u00a0noting:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>57%<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>&#8212; Percentage of self-identified &#8220;avid sports fans&#8221; who have owned either an NFT or some form of cryptocurrency, according to the latest Seton Hall Sports Poll results. In the general U.S. population, 24% of households in the U.S. have owned either or both. Among sports fans, that number grows to 34%. The poll was conducted May 5-9 and includes responses from 1,514 U.S. adults with a margin of error of 3.2% (<em>Seton Hall Sports Poll<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Other media outlets covering the poll\u2019s findings on crypto and NFTs included an article in\u00a0<em>International Business Times<\/em>\u00a0(U.S. and Australia) entitled &#8220;<a id=\"https:\/\/www.ibtimes.com\/sports-fans-twice-likely-buy-bitcoin-ethereum-nfts-survey-3545283|\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ibtimes.com\/sports-fans-twice-likely-buy-bitcoin-ethereum-nfts-survey-3545283\">Sports Fans Twice As Likely To Buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, NFTs: Survey<\/a>,&#8221;\u00a0which noted:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Seton Hall University\u00a0<a id=\"https:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/sportspoll\/2022\/06\/06\/1-in-4-american-households-have-purchased-or-sold-crypto-nfts-nearly-60-of-avid-sports-fans-have-indulged\/|\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/sportspoll\/2022\/06\/06\/1-in-4-american-households-have-purchased-or-sold-crypto-nfts-nearly-60-of-avid-sports-fans-have-indulged\/\">surveyed<\/a>\u00a01,514 U.S. adults and found that 57% of households with an avid sports fan have owned digital assets, more than double the rate of households without one, at just 24%.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Although we are in the early innings of crypto and NFT ownership, sports fans have shown a real proclivity for engagement in these markets,\u2019 said Daniel Ladik, a Seton Hall marketing professor and poll methodologist.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;If managed effectively, NFTs could become a major source of revenue as well as a new avenue of fan connection for sports brands. In a digital age, interactive assets like NFTs can drive a sense of holder equity and belonging \u2013 key attributes for brand success,&#8217;\u00a0he added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Decrypt<\/em>, a leading news source in the world of crypto, also ran a story on the findings, &#8220;<a id=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/103262\/sports-fans-twice-as-likely-to-buy-bitcoin-ethereum-nfts|\" href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/103262\/sports-fans-twice-as-likely-to-buy-bitcoin-ethereum-nfts\">Sports Fans Twice as Likely to Buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, NFTs<\/a>,&#8221;\u00a0as did O\u2019Dwyer PR (&#8220;<a id=\"https:\/\/www.odwyerpr.com\/story\/public\/18026\/2022-06-07\/sports-fans-cheer-cryptocurrency-nfts.html|\" href=\"https:\/\/www.odwyerpr.com\/story\/public\/18026\/2022-06-07\/sports-fans-cheer-cryptocurrency-nfts.html\">Sports Fans Cheer CryptoCurrency, NFTs<\/a>&#8220;) and a plethora of other websites and media outlets devoted to cryptocurrency, advertising and public relations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drop in Subscriptions to Cable and Satellite<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Regarding the findings on the drop in subscriptions to cable and satellite over the course of the last year by sports fans,\u00a0<em>The Sports Business Journal\u00a0<\/em>presented them in its &#8220;<a id=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Daily\/Closing-Bell\/2022\/06\/14\/Daily-Digit.aspx|\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Daily\/Closing-Bell\/2022\/06\/14\/Daily-Digit.aspx\">Daily Digit<\/a>,&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>11<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0&#8212; Year-over-year percentage point drop in Seton Hall Sports Poll respondents who have cable TV subscriptions, falling from 36% to 25% from the May &#8217;21 poll to the May &#8217;22 results. For satellite subscriptions, the drop was 6 points (19% to 13%). Among self-described sports fans, the decline was slightly smaller: 9 points for cable (39% to 30%) and 6 points for satellite (22% to 16%) (Seton Hall Sports Poll).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Spring Football, USFL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The Sports Business Journal<\/em>\u00a0also featured the poll&#8217;s findings on\u00a0<a id=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/en\/SB-Blogs\/Newsletter-Football\/2022\/05\/12|\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/en\/SB-Blogs\/Newsletter-Football\/2022\/05\/12\">spring football via the USFL<\/a>, noting:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Good news for USFL fans.
