End of Semester Program Matters

As the semester comes to a close, here are some important dates for students in the School Psychology Program:

1.  Graduation is next Saturday at Seton Hall. Both the MA and EdS cohorts will be graduating. Graduation is at 11:00 AM in the Gym.

2.  Summer Session 1 begins on Tuesday, May 20th.  If you are supposed to have courses this summer, please register ASAP.

3.  For MA students, Dr. Lombardy will be reviewing portfolios on the first 2 Saturdays in June.  For EdS students, Dr. Massarelli will be reviewing portfolios in class or during internship meetings.  Please make sure you have a 3-ring binder with the following included:

  • Course Syllabi
  • Papers, exams, Powerpoint Projects
  • Current Resume/CV
  • Grading Rubrics from courses
  • CEUs (Continuing Education Units or Credits)

4.  The Praxis Review will begin on Monday, June 2nd.  It will meet from 7-8:15 PM in the conference room, 3rd floor, Jubilee Hall.  The review will meet the following Mondays: June 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30.  It will also meet in July based on when most people are available.

5.  Practicum and Internship contracts are due by June 1st.  Please try to have them in by then otherwise you run the risk of not starting on time in the fall.

Upcoming Workshops!

There are two upcoming workshops available for all SPLASH members!

The first, “Positive Interactions with Parents: Tips for School Psychologists” will be presented by Dr. O’Halloran.  The workshop will be held on March 18, 2014 at 5 pm and will run to 6:30 in the Chancellors Suite at Seton Hall (Student Center).

Registration for the workshop is through the NJASP website and can be found on the events tab.

The second workshop will take place on Monday, March 31st from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  Pearson’s Dr. Jamie Whitaker will be presenting on Q-Global/WISC-V.

Both workshops are extremely important for students, recent graduates, seasoned school psychologists and all mental health professionals.  We hope we will see you there!

 

February 2014 SPLASH Meeting

Due to the weather, the next SPLASH meeting will be held on February 24th, 2014.  It will begin at 6:00 pm in Jubilee Hall Rm. 383.

Please bring $5.00 to pay dues for this year.

Winter 2013 SPLASH Meeting/Holiday Party

Hello all!

This Monday, December 9th will be the annual SPLASH holiday party and meeting. It will begin at 6:00 PM in Jubille Hall, Room 388.

Dr. Brady-Amoon will be our guest speaker with a talk on Risk Assessment in the Schools.

We will also be honoring the eight December 2014 graduates from the program. Congratulations to:  Renee Colangelo, Megan Francis, Lauren Lanza, Silvia Moran, Marlody Noda, Komal Patel, Lauren Schaeffer, and Aimee Schwartz!

As always, there will be plenty of food so come with your appetites!
