Second reading\u00a0of proposed changes to Faculty Guide Article 5.5.d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px\">Article 5.5.d.of the Faculty Guide:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px\">Motion: To add the following as # 1: \u00a0<i>Such guidelines shall include guidelines for voting procedures for promotion to full professor when there are no faculty of that rank in the department.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px\">ii. Second reading of proposed changes to Faculty Guide Article 5.1.e<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px\">Article 5.1.e of the Faculty Guide currently states:\u00a0<i>Applications shall be submitted to the department by October 1 and to the dean by November 1.<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px\">Motion: The proposed change reads:\u00a0<i>All applications will be submitted by October 1.<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px\">iii. Second\u00a0reading of proposed changes to Faculty Guide Article 6.1.b.4<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px\">Article 6.1.b.4 states that\u00a0<i>Faculty associates and term faculty members with two academic years of service completed\u00a0<\/i>are eligible to vote for sabbatical applications.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px\">Motion: The proposed change reads:\u00a0<i>Recommendations based upon a majority vote of the total tenured and tenure-track faculty members in a department are submitted to the dean of the respective college no later than November 1<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px\">iv. First reading of proposed changes to Faculty Guide Article 12.6.j<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px\">Article 12.6.j states: Twelve credit hours of release time per semester will be available for the\u00a0Senate officers, apportioned by the Senate Executive Committee.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px\">Motion: The proposed change reads: Fifteen credit hours of release time per semester will be available for Senate officers and At Large Executive committee members.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px\">v. First reading of proposed changes to Article III of the Faculty Senate By-Laws<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px\">Motion to delete the first three paragraphs of Article III and to add in its place:\u00a0Each three years the Senate shall review and as necessary, based on the current faculty data, reapportion the membership. In 2013 the Senate will be apportioned based on the following formula: for the first 100 full time faculty members in a school there will be 1 Senator for every 10 full time faculty members; over 100 there will be 1 Senator for every 15 full time faculty members. Each school shall by April 1, 2013\u00a0 forward a list of full time faculty (as defined in the Faculty Guide) to the Nominations and Elections committee so that the number of Senators for each school can be determined.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">e. \u00a0Graduate Studies Committee\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/scholarship.shu.edu\/cgi\/viewcontent.cgi?article=1322&amp;context=faculty-senate-agendas\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1027\">report<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">f.
