First reading of changes to Article 10.1a (re: Selection of Chairpersons)<\/p>\n Motion<\/strong>\u00a0: Department chairpersons are elected by majority vote of all full time tenured faculty members, tenure track faculty members, and faculty associates who will be continuing employment at the university in the subsequent year.<\/p>\n This replaces: Department chairpersons are elected by majority vote of the full time tenured faculty members of the department, the probationary faculty members in their second year who have been renewed for the following academic year, and faculty associates in their third year of faculty service.<\/em><\/p>\n II. Motion to change the Resolution of Dec. 2, 2011 regarding the clinical line in the College of Nursing<\/p>\n The Faculty Guide Committee continues to believe that there is no need for a faculty associate line in nursing if the clinical line is approved. The Faculty Guide Committee suggests this compromise on the language of the resolution of Dec. 2, 2011:<\/p>\n Motion:\u00a0<\/strong>To change the Resolution of Dec. 2, 2011 to read as follows:<\/p>\n Clinical faculty in the College of Nursing who hold a rank of Faculty Associate or Senior Faculty Associate will\u00a0 h. Graduate Studies Committee\u00a0report<\/a><\/p>\n i. Library Committee\u00a0report<\/a>\u00a0(Updated report<\/a>\u00a0received during the June-September recess)<\/p>\nimmediately\u00a0<\/del>be given the opportunity to\u00a0<\/ins>transfer to the appropriate equivalent clinical faculty line upon final adoption of the clinical faculty line. These faculty members will retain their current contract status when transferring from Faculty Associate or Senior Faculty Associate to clinical track faculty.<\/p>\n
