Whereas the presentation of an honorary degree is the university\u2019s highest level of academic commendation;<\/span>
Whereas, there has been no significant role for faculty in the selection of commencement speakers and honorary degree recipients;<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
The Faculty Senate moves that the Provost\u2019s Office create a task force charged with ensuring substantial faculty participation in the selection of future honorary degree recipients and commencement speakers.<\/span><\/p>\n\n
