Resolution regarding the proposed 3 + 2 B.A. in Biology and M.S. in Athletic Training.<\/p>\n Resolved: The proposed 3 + 2 B.A. in Biology and M.S. in Athletic Training is approved. First reading of the proposed changes to\u00a0Article XIX of the Faculty Senate By-Laws, under the Academic Policy Committee.<\/p>\n Article XIX of the Faculty Senate By-Laws, under the Academic Policy Committee reads:<\/p>\n The Academic Policy Committee shall make recommendations to the Senate on matters of academic policy, including proposed new academic programs, changes in existing programs or in general School or College requirements, and policies affecting the academic work of the University, with the exception of matters referred to other committees of the Senate.<\/em><\/p>\n Motion:<\/strong>\u00a0 To add the following\u00a0to Article XIX of the Faculty Senate By-Laws, under the Academic Policy Committee:<\/p>\n A senator who is jointly invited by the Chairperson of the APC and the Director of the Core Advisory Board and appointed by the Chairperson of the Senate will be a liaison to the Core Advisory Board and sit on the APC. The liaison will keep the APC and Senate informed about Core Curriculum and keep the Core Advisory Board informed about APC requirements.<\/strong><\/p>\n ii. First reading of the proposed changes to Article XIX of the Faculty Senate By-Laws, Standing Committees,\u00a0under the Core Curriculum Committee.<\/b><\/p>\n Article XIX of the Faculty Senate By-Laws, Standing Committees,\u00a0under the Core Curriculum Committee reads:<\/p>\n The Core Curriculum Committee shall make recommendations to the Senate on matters relating to the design, revision, administration and implementation of the Core Curriculum.<\/em><\/p>\n Motion:\u00a0<\/strong> To delete under Article XIX Standing Committees: The Core Curriculum Committee<\/p>\n Rationale:\u00a0 The oversight of the core curriculum will be within the APC with the proposed liaison.<\/p>\n iii. Motion:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0The Senate recommends that the Core Advisory Board amend their by-laws to reflect the current practice of the A&S EPC reviewing Signature 1 & 2 courses and Signature 3 courses being reviewed by the EPC of the school that developed the specific course.<\/p>\n j.\u00a0 Intellectual Property Task Force<\/p>\n
