Seton Hall University libraries<\/a> is a part of The Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR)<\/a>, an organization of members from various institutions that work together to: acquire and preserve social science data, to provide open and equitable access to these data, and to promote effective data use. <\/span>This year ICPSR will be hosting their Biennial Meeting<\/a>, a fully virtual event, open to the public, and free.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event will take place from October 6-8, 2021,<\/strong> with presentations happening between 10 am ET and 5pm ET.<\/strong> We strongly suggest that our students, faulty, and staff attend. You can register <\/span>here.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s meeting is themed \u201cData Positivity: Data Doing Good\u201d and will focus on ICPSR\u2019s mission to further advance the discipline of science through training and information-sharing in the areas of data curation and data management, research and classroom data resources, and data education opportunities to help data-driven individuals \u201cdo good\u201d by using the best and latest quantitative methods.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

**Please note:<\/strong> <\/span>Samah Alshrief, Data Coordinator for University Libraries, will be presenting on Wednesday, Oct 6<\/strong> at 1 pm EST about Data Ethics and how to manage missing data.<\/span><\/p>\n
