Fraternity & Sorority Life <\/span><\/b><\/a>\u2014<\/span><\/b>Greek Life is a dynamic community of over 25 fraternities & sororities that offer students an experience of lifelong bonds of brotherhood & sisterhood. The community is built on cornerstones of leadership development, academic excellence, and service. Chapter\u2019s exist within \ufb01ve governing councils: Collegiate Panhellenic Council (CPC), Greek Municipal Assembly (GMA), Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC), Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), and National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC). All chapters recognized by Seton hall offer a space for students to experience co-curricular educational opportunities.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Student Government Association<\/span><\/b><\/a>. SGA is the official representative of the undergraduate student body at Seton Hall University. Membership consists of an Executive Board, elected Representatives, and appointed Committee Chairs who are responsible for communicating the concerns and needs of the student community. All meetings are open and allow any and all students to voice their opinions, concerns, and suggestions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
Multicultural Advisory Committee<\/span><\/b><\/a>. MAC is dedicated to cultivating and promoting an inclusive multicultural involvement community that promotes the importance of shared vision, social connection, and collaborative efforts. Through leadership development, special events, and community building initiatives, MAC aims build a campus community that supports cultural differences and dialogues in diversity through education, celebration, and appreciation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As Pirates, we bleed blue and one of the places you get to see this happen is in the Richie Regan Recreation Center. It\u2019s the home court for our women\u2019s basketball team and our women\u2019s volleyball team. It\u2019s also houses a field house where you can shoot hoops and play volleyball as well as a state-of-the-art fitness center for you to work out. There are a variety of classes you can take like yoga and spin \u2013 you can also join a club sport or participate in intramurals throughout the year. Athletic events are an important part of the Seton Hall experience from soccer in the fall to baseball in the spring \u2013 Pirate\u2019s love to cheer on their team!<\/p>\n
Attending men\u2019s and women\u2019s basketball games is an especially special experience for students. The women\u2019s team plays in the legendary Walsh Gym, and the men\u2019s team plays down the road at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. Students get all decked out in SHU gear to cheer on the blue and white. - Blue Day.<\/b> Pirate\u2019s kick off the start of the school year with the Blue Day carnival outside on the Green. There are inflatables, food trucks, tons of activities, and a \u201csea of blue\u201d as students wear their Blue Day t-shirt to showcase their Seton Hall spirit.\u00a0<\/li>\n
- Christmas at the Hall Tree Lighting Ceremony.<\/b> During the holy season we join in a spirit of joy and generosity to celebrate our faith in the Christmas traditions at Seton Hall. The season begins by lighting our 60ft Norway spruce with over 40,000 lights and singing along to Christmas carols sung by our choirs, bands, and acapella groups. Students, faculty, staff\/administrators, alumni, and families come together on the Green wearing blue Santa hats and drinking hot cocoa to celebrate this joyous time of year.\u00a0<\/li>\n
- Pirate Statue.<\/b> Rub the Pirate statue\u2019s foot for good luck. The Pirate statue at the Recreation Center is a symbol of our Pirate Pride, and everything Seton Hall stands for. When you\u2019ve stressing over a test, worried about a paper or just need some good fortune, rub the Pirate\u2019s foot and good things will happen.\u00a0<\/li>\n
- The Seal.<\/b> Don\u2019t step on the seal! The seal is the formal symbol of our University, it\u2019s recognized by students and alumni world-wide as the symbol of all that Seton Hall has accomplished during its long history, and all that we will continue to accomplish in the years to come. As Pirates we respect this crest and we never step on it, or let anyone else step on it. Seton Hall tradition tells us that stepping on the seal leads to lower GPAs, prolonged graduation, and a host of other issues. If you have find that your foot has grazed the seal you have 30 seconds to run to the Pirate Statue and rub the Pirate\u2019s foot to try to reverse the curse!\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
