My History with Podcasts<\/h1>\n

Although I do not currently listen to any podcasts – I am a huge fan and believe it’s one of the most successful means of communication and information dissemination that humans have invented. I say this because unlike many, I sadly do not enjoy holding a physical book to read. I rather watch a video on the subject matter or listen to a recording. This is because I find reading a book very restrictive since it requires all my attention and hinders multitasking. I’d love to lay in bed and listen to a story, or drive to work whilst learning about something new. I do not want to be held back by the exhaustive act of flipping through pages of a potentially weighty book when I have alternatives. For these reasons, I found podcasts to be the holy grail of communication, especially if a large chuck of information is involved. I have learnt a lot of things I consider meaningful from podcasts and I am grateful to live in an age where podcasts are easily accessible. A few podcasts I have listened to and really enjoyed are the Jordan B Peterson Podcast<\/a> and Hello Internet<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Starting my Podcast<\/h1>\n
I like to think I am great with technology, but sound media has been an aspect I have never ventured into. I acknowledge its a skill that needs to be acquired, one that can be perfected through practice, but since I have never had a need for a podcast – I never made one. Recently, I found that podcasts can serve as an outlet to express my thoughts on topics I find interesting. I consider myself a deep thinker, but I rarely have an audience to have discussions with. Podcasts might very well be my way out of that problem! So, I decided to start The Emanoid Podcast<\/strong>. The target audience of my podcast is any individual that takes interest in philosophy, psychology, technology, the human condition & proclivities, and the future. The purpose of this podcast is to solve the very issue I expressed earlier – a platform to discuss topics I find interesting, and have my target audience engage with me on these ideas. The Podcast Creating Process<\/h1>\n

Creating the Pilot episode of The Emanoid Podcast<\/strong> was a very time consuming process that was interestingly fun. This was my first time creating a podcast so I had to think about what my content and target audience will be. After deciding on this, I made a recording on a topic surrounding the rights of cyborgs<\/a>. This recording involved multiple attempts and is miles away from being the quality audio I’d like due to the lack of proper equipment and experience. There were a ton of bloopers I had to edit out as well as merges I did, since certain portions were recorded at different times. I did my best to make the audio sound fluid and professional to a level my newbie self can manage. Audacity<\/a> was the audio editing tool that made this process achievable – there is still a learning curve I’ll have to overcome using the software though :). After completing the content of the Podcast, I wanted to overlay the audio with soothing non-distracting music. I was able to find a royalty free tune I liked from Pixabay<\/a> and used Audacity to merge it into the audio. There is still much progress to be done in regards to my audio editing skills. But for a first timer – I do not absolutely hate the work I produced ?.<\/div>\n
