Hello, content creators today, I’ll be going over uploading creative commons, images to WordPress blog. This tutorial assumes you have access to an active WordPress account and you can post blogs. We are also gonna be attributing the image we use and to-attribute any image. We need the authors name, the image description, and the image license. So let’s say we want to upload the image of a balloon to our blog. We can go over to a search engine like Google and type in balloon. Next, we can go over to the balloon’s images and we are only interested in balloons that has a license that will allow us to use the image.

So we’re gonna filter this list of balloons by selecting ‘Tools’, ‘Use Rights’ and selecting ‘Creative Commons Licenses. Now we can look for-any balloon that we find interesting, and let’s say this balloon, we can then visit the site this balloon was posted to. And now we need to find those three information. The, author’s name the description and the license, the author for this balloon is Marrovi. And the profile for this author is on this page that was linked to the name Marrovi. The description for this image is balloon from Zum Pango. So that is good. We can also access the license by scrolling down and finding the license information, which is this. And we can go over to the license page to make sure the license allows for us to use the image without copyright issues. We can see that the license name is CC by SA 2.5 MX and allows us to share, copy and review the material in any medium or format. So this is a good license to use for the image attribution.

I’m gonna take note of the license URL and the author’s profile URL. I can also now make use of the page by downloading the image, making use of the file URL, which I will copy. I will then go over to the WordPress account and create a new post by clicking Posts. I will name this Creative-Commons? I’m gonna add media by clicking add media. I’m gonna insert from URL and paste. The URL that I copied for the alternative text, which is useful for accessibility issues. I’m gonna be copying over the description of the image. So getting the description balloon from ZumPango and paste it over to the alternative text and the Context is where we attribute the image. So I’m gonna put over the description by the artist’s name, Marrovi it’s license under the license name, which is CC by SA 2.5 MX, and the place that here and I’m good to go, insert into post and where the fight is attribution by making sure Marrovi links to the artist’s profile and license links to the license page. I will now save and preview my blog. And as you can see, this is the blog we’ve created. This is the image we’ve uploaded onto the blog, and we can see it is attributed correctly with the artist name, linking to the artist’s profile and the license linking to the license page. Thank you.
