The Conventual Franciscan Fathers served St. Joseph’s Parish for many years.
The first Conventual Franciscan pastor was Rev. Alfonse Zoller, OFM, Conv, who became pastor in 1874.
The parish is now merged with Our Lady of Grace.

Long shot…but if anyone knows a parishioner who entered the OFM Conv seminary for Brothers at Watertown NY in 1957, I’d love to get in touch. He’d be about 76, from Hoboken.
I am looking for the orphanage where I believe my father to have been with the same name and location. His DOB: 5/3/1911. I believe he was in the St. Joseph’s Orphanage in Hoboken, NJ and perhaps with one or two brothers. I do have a record of birth for my aunt born at St. Joseph’s in 1913. Can you point me in the right direction as I have not been able to determine where this institution is in Hoboken, NJ since my searches take me to this Parish. Also, where do I write for any records and/or pictures of the institution in the period from 1912 – 1927 or thereabouts. Would there be pictures of the students? Any help is greatly appreciated. Respectfully, Jamie P. Shanahan
