Communities like the <span style=\"color: #008080\"><a style=\"color: #008080\" href=\"https:\/\/www.goodgriefnetwork.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Good Grief Network<\/a><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0and <span style=\"color: #008080\"><a style=\"color: #008080\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ecoanxious.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eco-Anxious Stories<\/a><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> spaces where people can come together to share stories and learn how to cope with eco-anxiety.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Engage in activism<\/strong>. Taking action to address climate change can <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">be a great way to\u00a0<\/span>channel feelings\u00a0of climate grief and anxiety. It\u2019s easy to feel guilty about certain lifestyle practices like using plastic and eating meat, but recognizing the negative environmental impacts of these habits is the first step in adopting a more sustainable lifestyle.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008080\"><a style=\"color: #008080\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservation.org\/carbon-footprint-calculator#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Calculate your carbon footprint<\/a><\/span> and<span style=\"color: #008080\"> <a style=\"color: #008080\" href=\"https:\/\/news.climate.columbia.edu\/2018\/12\/27\/35-ways-reduce-carbon-footprint\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">learn<\/a> <\/span>about ways you can incorporate green changes into your daily life. While no one person can do everything, your actions do have the power to make a difference- on the environment and on your mental health.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Prepare for emergencies<\/strong>. Taking pre-emptive acti<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ons can help increas<\/span>e confidence and the feeling of safety and reduce fear.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Seek education about what to expect and how to prepare for future climate events.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Prepare in advance for emergencies by having and practicing an emergency plan.
