This exhibition will present information on these issues along with resources for LGBTQIA youth dealing with these problems, as well as information on how allies can advocate for and support the LGBTQIA community to <strong>provide awareness<\/strong> on and to <strong>better mental health<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">LGBTQIA+ youth are at a higher risk for mental health disorders due to the numerous challenges they face, such as \u201cbullying, [difficulties] coming out&#8230;, hate crimes, lack of support, \u2026 stigma, and discrimination&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/adaa.org\/find-help\/by-demographics\/lgbtq\"><span style=\"color: #008080\">(ADAA)<\/span><\/a>. These adversities create <strong>minority stress<\/strong> and can lead to mental health issues including anxiety, PTSD, depression, and even suicide.<\/p>\n<p>For more information please visit the <span style=\"color: #008080\"><a style=\"color: #008080\" href=\"https:\/\/adaa.org\/find-help\/by-demographics\/lgbtq\">Anxiety, &amp; Depression Association of America (ADAA): LGBTQ+.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<pre><\/pre>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #339966\"><strong>Creating Understanding and Support<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>These mental health issues can be combated by giving our LGBTQIA+ friends the <strong>support<\/strong> they need to achieve a mentally healthy life. This exhibition hopes to give a better understanding of mental health issues that are faced by the LGBTQIA+ Community.<\/p>\n<pre><\/pre>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #339966\"><strong>A Few Statistics<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>LGBTQ youth who have a <strong>community-affirming space<\/strong> they can visit in person are 8% less likely to attempt suicide.<\/li>\n<li>LGBTQ youth who have the <strong>support of their families<\/strong> are 9% less likely to attempt suicide.<\/li>\n<li>Over 80% of LGBTQ youth feel more secure in themselves when they see celebrities or others in the media who are part of the LGBTQIA+ Community.<\/li>\n<li>More than 50% of LGBTQ Youth have a positive impact from seeing brands support the LGBTQIA+ Community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">For more information please visit <span style=\"color: #008080\"><a style=\"color: #008080\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thetrevorproject.org\/survey-2020\/\">The Trevor Project: National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health 2020<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<pre><\/pre>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Special thanks to LGBTQ+ artist Colin W.
