On Thursday, October 22nd the Doug Baldwin of the Piscataway Library’s Make it Yourself space hosted the NJ Makers Consortium for a Circuit Tiles workshop.  If you are not familiar with circuit tiles, they individual blocks that contain either a: power supply, switch, or light/fan/etc.  Makers can use the blocks to create simple and more complex circuits by connecting the power supply to various switch and light/fan blocks.  They are a DIY version of Little Bits.  We had a great time learning to solder (for those of us who had not done so since middle school tech/wood shop!) and getting our blocks to work.

Stephanie shows off her soldering skills.

Doug demos how to connect the circuit tiles to Rosemary.

The group shows off our finished products. (L to R: Rosemary, Regina, Emily, Ken, Mike)
