If you\u2019ve\u00a0<\/span>participated in a library instruction<\/span>\u00a0class,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>Data Services class<\/span>, or used our\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Chat\u00a0<\/span>With<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>A<\/span>\u00a0Librarian\u00a0<\/span><\/span>service<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>this past<\/span> semester, <\/span>chances are you\u2019ve had the opportunity to\u00a0<\/span>meet and<\/span>\u00a0work\u00a0<\/span>with Jordan Evans-Boyajian, an adjunct librarian here at Walsh Library.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>With her\u00a0<\/span>wealth of\u00a0<\/span>knowledge\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>talent<\/span>\u00a0for teaching<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Jordan<\/span>\u00a0ha<\/span>s\u00a0<\/span>been much in demand as an instructor<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A native of New York, Jordan\u2019s love of art led her to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the <\/span>School of Visual\u00a0Arts<\/span><\/a> in New York. And she has now completed her master\u2019s degree in Library & Information Science <\/span>online<\/span><\/a>\u00a0through San Jose State University\u00a0this past November!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jordan started as an intern at Seton Hall University Libraries in October of 2020. Jordan initially joined our reference team. She then branched out to\u00a0work on\u00a0projects involving\u00a0<\/span>instruction,\u00a0Archives\u00a0& Special Collections, and the Walsh Gallery.\u00a0One of her first projects was a\u00a0<\/span>historic online tour of the campus<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During this Fall semester at Seton Hall University, Jordan was able to coordinate several book displays virtually and in-person to celebrate <\/span>Hispanic Heritage Month<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>LGBTQIA+ History Month<\/span><\/a>, and\u00a0<\/span>National Native American Heritage Month<\/span><\/a>. She also developed guides to help students understand how to utilize <\/span>Humanitarian Mapping tools<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and how to use works from the\u00a0<\/span>Walsh Gallery<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in their own research.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While working with the Archives & Special Collections in the summer of 2021, Jordan was able to complete digitizing Civil Rights photographic slides for use by the Africana Studies department. These slides were in rough condition due to decay from age, but she was able to bring them back to their original look and feel through color correction.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jordan observed\u00a0\u00a0that \u201cthese slides document the Civil Rights Movement as well as how the Africana Studies Department has developed their curriculum through the years. It is a great look back to see what the style was in the 1970\u2019s at Seton Hall University.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jordan will be finishing up her adjunct position this month, and then it’s onward to new adventures.
