This\u00a0 is an interdisciplinary program in association with the exhibition \u201cStrange Attractors\u201d and will be held in Walsh Gallery on\u00a0<strong>Friday, March 8<sup>th<\/sup>, 7pm\u20139pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Strange Attractors&#8221; explores the intersection of art and science in our era of increasing interdisciplinary dialogue. Both the panel and exhibition were conceived as an extension of a <a href=\"http:\/\/cueartfoundation.org\/events\/strange-attractors\">symposium<\/a> hosted at New York City&#8217;s CUE Art Foundation in November 2017 that addressed ways in which an art-science alliance might contribute to the larger cultural discourse.<\/p>\n<p>Panelists include: <strong>Luis Schettino<\/strong>, Associate Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Lafayette College; <strong>Farzad Mahootian<\/strong>, a philosopher and religious studies scholar and Faculty of Liberal Studies, New York University; and <strong>Carrie Rohrman<\/strong>, author of \u201cChoreographies of the Living\u201d and Associate Professor of English at Lafayette College.\u00a0 The panel will be moderated by Taney Roniger.<\/p>\n<p>The objective of the panel and exhibition is to consider ways in which the arts and sciences might join forces to pursue common goals.\u00a0 Both are designed to foster a creative space in which students, artists, scholars, and members of the community can engage with art through interdisciplinary frameworks.<\/p>\n<p>The panel discussion and exhibition are free and open to the public.\u00a0 A full-color catalogue with essays by Taney Roniger and Jeanne Brasile is available at Walsh gallery.\u00a0 The exhibition is presented with generous support from the internationally renowned The Robert Lehman Foundation and the Essex County Arts Council, through a re-grant of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, A Partner Agency of the National Endowment of the Arts.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2536 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/libraries\/files\/2019\/02\/Strange_Attractors_-_Postcard__Front_.jpg\" alt=\"Strange Attractors Postcard\" width=\"2144\" height=\"1444\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/libraries\/files\/2019\/02\/Strange_Attractors_-_Postcard__Front_.jpg 2144w, https:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/libraries\/files\/2019\/02\/Strange_Attractors_-_Postcard__Front_-300x202.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/libraries\/files\/2019\/02\/Strange_Attractors_-_Postcard__Front_-768x517.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/libraries\/files\/2019\/02\/Strange_Attractors_-_Postcard__Front_-1024x690.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/libraries\/files\/2019\/02\/Strange_Attractors_-_Postcard__Front_-1200x808.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 1362px) 62vw, 840px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>&#8220;Strange Attractors&#8221;\u00a0Exhibition: January 14 \u2013 March 8, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Panel:<\/strong> Friday, March 8th 7pm\u20139pm<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><span style=\"background-color: yellow\">SNOW DATE <\/span><\/strong>: Saturday, March 9th 7pm\u20139pm<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Gallery hours:<\/strong> Mon\u2013Fri\u00a0 10:30am to 4:30pm<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Further information on &#8220;Strange Attractors&#8221; and the Walsh Gallery may be found\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/library.shu.edu\/walshgallery\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Let us know what you think!
