{"id":2319,"date":"2018-08-22T12:53:56","date_gmt":"2018-08-22T16:53:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/libraries\/?p=2319"},"modified":"2018-09-21T14:05:01","modified_gmt":"2018-09-21T18:05:01","slug":"seton-hall-university-libraries-receives-technology-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.edu\/libraries\/2018\/08\/seton-hall-university-libraries-receives-technology-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Seton Hall University Libraries Receives Technology award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am pleased to announce that the Rethinking Resource Sharing (RSS) Innovation Award Committee has recognized Seton Hall University Libraries \u201cfor their process of innovating across all library services\u201d with an Honorable Mention in this year\u2019s award cycle.\u00a0 The notification e-mail stated that:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe pool of nominations for the Innovation Award is always competitive and this year was no exception.\u00a0 We are pleased to inform you that we have awarded you an Honorable Mention\u2026..\u00a0 We are impressed with the work you have done and would like to acknowledge and celebrate your efforts within the Resource Sharing community.\u00a0 \u2026 Congratulations to you and your team and thank you very sincerely for your efforts to improve resource sharing overall.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Seton Hall\u2019s application was for \u201cthe entire process that led us to numerous, small-scale, problem-solving innovations of importance to libraries our size from a challenging baseline\u201d over the course of several years.\u00a0 The letter of support from OCLC noted that \u201cSHU was critical in ensuring that their new cloud-based management service would work well with the legacy client-server software that allowed for material fulfillment for their users\u201d,\u00a0 and EBSCO\u2019s letter of support noted that SHU was \u201cfocused on building a library system which leveraged technology, a good user experience, and a long range plan.
