Sometimes when connecting to library resources from off-campus, you may encounter unexpected errors–the content you are looking for may appear to be unavailable, you may see an error message, or simply see an unfamiliar or confusing webpage.<\/p>\n

When this occurs, a good rule of thumb is to clear your browser cache<\/strong>, then close your browser and start again. Below are brief explanations on how to clear the cache for the most commonly used web browsers: Google Chrome<\/strong>, Firefox<\/strong>, Internet Explorer<\/strong> and Safari<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Clearing Cache in Chrome \"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. From\u00a0the Menu<\/strong> \"\" button in the top right corner of the browser window, choose More\u00a0Tools<\/strong> > Clear browsing data<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    2. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.<\/li>\n
    3. Next to “Cookies and other site data” and “Cached images and files,” check the boxes.<\/li>\n
    4. Click Clear data.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Clearing Cache in Firefox \"\"<\/a>
      \n<\/strong><\/p>\n

      1. From the menu button in the top right corner of the browser window, click to open it and choose Options<\/span><\/strong>:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        2. Select Advanced<\/strong> from the left-side menu.
        \n3. Click on the Network<\/strong> tab at the top.
        \n4. In the Cached Web Content<\/strong> section, click Clear Now<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

        Clearing Cache in Internet Explorer\u00a0\"\"<\/a>
        \n<\/strong><\/p>\n

        1. Select Tools (via the Gear Icon)\u00a0> Safety<\/strong> > Delete browsing history<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
        2. Make sure to uncheck<\/strong> <\/span>Preserve Favorites<\/strong> website data.<\/li>\n
        3. Check both Temporary Internet Files<\/strong> and Cookies<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
        4. Click Delete<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Clearing Cache in Safari \"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

          1. Click Safari<\/strong> in the upper left hand side of your screen.<\/li>\n
          2. In the menu that appears, click Preferences<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
          3. In the window that appears, click the Privacy<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n
          4. Click the button Remove All Website Data.<\/strong><\/li>\n
          5. Click Remove Now<\/strong> in the pop up window that appears.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n
