I just updated and added several resources to\u00a0my Online Resources for Biblical Studies <\/a><\/em>page.\u00a0Be sure and check out the\u00a0list of\u00a0free databases, journals and websites designed to help students and scholars with their\u00a0work and research in biblical\u00a0and Jewish-Christian studies.<\/p>\n

Here’s what’s new:<\/p>\n

Digitized Medieval Manuscripts Maps (DMMmaps)<\/a><\/strong>
\nDMMmaps\u00a0helps scholars and enthusiasts explore and discover digitized medieval manuscripts by providing links to thousands of medieval manuscripts and hundreds of libraries all over the world.<\/p>\n

HebrewBooks.org
\n<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/a>HebrewBooks.org has\u00a0thousands of rare and out of print books and journals online.<\/p>\n

Hill Museum & Manuscript Library (HMML)<\/strong><\/a>
\nHMML holds works of art and rare printed books from the Middle Ages to the present and is home to The Saint John\u2019s Bible<\/span><\/em>, the first handwritten and illuminated Bible to have been commissioned by a Benedictine Abbey since the invention of the printing press in the 15h century. Additionally, HMML\u2019s\u00a0online image library, Vivarium<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/a>, contains digitized manuscripts, art, rare books, photographs and other resources from two Benedictine monastic and educational communities in central Minnesota.<\/p>\n

Princeton University Sefer Hasidim<\/em> Database (PUSHD)<\/strong><\/a>
\nThe PUSHD database includes fourteen\u00a0manuscripts containing different versions of the\u00a0Sefer Hasidim <\/i>(Book of the Pious<\/i>) and its fragments.\u00a0Access to these manuscripts\u00a0is free but requires one\u00a0to\u00a0register.<\/p>\n

Project TABS \u2013 The Torah.com<\/strong><\/a>
\nProject TABS is a forum that brings together the world\u2019s top Jewish scholars and thinkers to share their expertise and reflections on biblical scholarship\u2019s implications for understanding Torah.<\/p>\n

Sephardic Studies Digital Library and Museum<\/strong><\/a>
\nDating between the 16th\u00a0and mid-20th\u00a0centuries, this collection includes more than 500 original Ladino books and thousands of documents composed in Ladino as well as other relevant languages, such as Ottoman Turkish, Hebrew and French. In collaboration with the UW Libraries Digital Initiative Programs, 90 of these volumes have already been digitized and the first samples of the digital artifacts are available through the University of Washington Libraries Digital Collections.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Syriac.org<\/strong><\/a>
\nThe Syriac Reference Portal<\/em> is a collaborative research project publishling online reference works concerning the culture, history and literature of Syriac communities from antiquity to the present. The online publications of Syriaca.org<\/i> serve a broad scholarly audience including students of Middle Eastern studies, classics, medieval history, religious studies, biblical studies and linguistics.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
