While the messages are now sent electronically, the moniker \u201ccable\u201d stuck and the term is still in use today for shorter, encrypted diplomatic messages. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Castro-Russia Bromance <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Former Cuban President Fidel Castro died at age 90 years old on Friday, November 25, 2016 after suffering from illness for eight years. According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/themoscowtimes.com\/photogalleries\/fidel-bromance-with-russia-56321\">Moscow Times<\/a>, \u201cCastro, who lead a rebel army to improbable victory in Cuba, embraced Soviet-style communism and defied the power of 10 U.S. presidents during his half-century rule.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Japan\u2019s \u2018Space World\u2019 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Space World, a Japanese theme park froze 5,000 sea creatures for a special winter attraction called \u201cFreezing Port\u201d. The Park\u2019s manager, Toshimi Takeda, said that the fish were dead prior to being frozen into the floor of the ice rink. The park will unfreeze the skate rink and hold an \u201cappropriate religious service\u201d for the fish, reports <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2016\/11\/28\/asia\/japan-frozen-fish-rink-trnd\/\">CNN<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Worst Bleaching \u2013 Great Barrier Reef <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-australia-38127320\">BBC<\/a>, \u201chigher water temperatures in 2016 caused the worst destruction of corals ever records on Australia\u2019s Great Barrier Reef.\u201d When water temperatures rise for a sustained period of time, bleaching occurs. This year 67 percent of the corals died in the reef\u2019s worst-hit Northern section while only 6 percent perished in the central section.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zimbabwe\u2019s New Currency <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2016\/nov\/28\/mugabe-launches-new-currency-in-last-gamble-for-zimbabwe\">Guardian<\/a>, \u201cZimbabwe has launched a controversial new currency in a last ditch bid to inject desperately needed cash into its failing economy.\u201d There is a growing fear that the new notes will cause hyperinflation amongst Zimbabwe\u2019s public. President Robert Mugabe\u2019s decision has been called a \u201clast gamble\u201d and has resulted in protests against his rule.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits of Irish Reunification<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a discussion document launched entitled \u201cTowards a United Ireland,\u201d leaders of the Irish political party Sinn F\u00e9in want to stimulate debate on the subject since its resurfacing after the Brexit vote. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rte.ie\/news\/2016\/1128\/834985-sinn-fein-united-ireland\/\">RT\u00c9<\/a> reports Northern Ireland Minister for Finance M\u00e1irt\u00edn \u00d3 Muilleoir says reunification would result in a benefit of \u00a335 billion for the whole island by 2025.
