While the messages are now sent electronically, the moniker \u201ccable\u201d stuck and the term is still in use today for shorter, encrypted diplomatic messages. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Russia\u2019s \u2018Barbarism\u2019 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This Sunday the U.S., U.K, and France called a Security Council meeting to address Russia\u2019s behavior in Aleppo. According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/world\/russia-syria-war-words-west-worst-decades-n654306\">NBC<\/a>, there are allegations that Russia is working with the Syrian regime to carry out war crimes. U.S. Ambassador Samantha Power said, \u201cwhat Russia is sponsoring and doing is not counter-terrorism, it\u2019s barbarism.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong>World\u2019s Largest Radio Telescope <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>China has completed the world\u2019s largest radio telescope which began searching for signals Sunday. According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/news\/world\/china-begins-operating-world-largest-radio-telescope-article-1.2806131\">NY Daily News<\/a>, this project is a representation of China\u2019s ambitions for space and international scientific prestige. The telescope itself is 500 meters in diameter, and took over $180 million to complete.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Investigation Exposes Illegal Wildlife Trafficking <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A recent investigation of global wildlife crimes identified key traffickers spreading across several continents. According the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/environment\/2016\/sep\/26\/revealed-the-criminals-making-millions-from-illegal-wildlife-trafficking\">Guardian<\/a>, the ringleaders are profiting $23 billion annually. The investigation revealed organized crime groups that play a central role in the killing and mutilation of ten of thousands animals including endangered tigers, elephants, and rhinos.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong>U.S. Presidential Debate and World Stock <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The anticipation for the first U.S. presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump has caused stock prices around the world to fall. According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-global-markets-idUSKCN11W00R\">Reuters<\/a>, the debate will impact the voting decision of half of America\u2019s likely voters.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prince George Doesn\u2019t Return Low-Fives<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Canadian prime minister welcomed the British royal family this Saturday for a week long visit. Upon arrival, Justin Trudeau offered Prince George a low-five which he simply shook his head at.
