John J. DeFuria is an associate at Mandelbaum Barrett PC in Roseland, New Jersey. John earned his B.S. in Finance from the University of Delaware, and his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law. John graduated from Seton Hall Law having received a Concentration in Health Law, and had the opportunity to participate in externships with multiple global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. While in law school, John served as an associate editor on the Seton Hall Law Review, as well as President of the Peter W. Kelly is currently a 3L at Seton Hall University School of Law. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Political Science in 2019. During her time at Seton Hall Kelly has been an associate and senior editor on the Seton Hall Law Review, a Student Attorney in the Center for Social Justice Family Law Clinic, a legal extern with the Honorable Patty Schwartz of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and as a legal fellow for Otsuka Pharmaceuticals. She spent her 2L summer as a Summer Associate for Simpson Thacher, & Bartlett and will be joining their Corporate group following graduation. Kelly is set to graduate from Seton Hall Law in June 2022. She enjoys spending time in the library, tutoring 1L students, and exercising religiously. Matthew Morales is a 2022 J.D. Candidate at Seton Hall Law. Matthew graduated cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor\u2019s degree in English and minors in Japanese, Linguistics, and Political Science. Prior to law school, he worked as a purchasing manager in the construction industry, a speech and debate coach, and an ethics and compliance interviewer. As a compliance interviewer, Matthew interviewed employees from a wide spectrum of industries and documented various claims ranging from workplace harassment to discriminatory treatment. This experience sparked Matthew\u2019s interest in employment and labor matters and informed his decision to pursue a career in law. After completing his 1L year, Matthew worked as a judicial intern to the Honorable Judge Thomas Moore, the presiding judge at Essex County Civil Division. Currently, Matthew is a mock trial board member, a leadership fellow, Asian Pacific American Law Student Association (APALSA) eboard member, a 2L Student Bar Association (SBA) Senator, the SBA Governance Committee Chair, and a representative on the SBA Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Matthew\u2019s interest in health law is a natural extension of his commitment to becoming a better advocate for employees. He believes safeguarding the mental and physical health of employees is a fundamental pillar of the employer-employee relationship. Tom is originally from Simi Valley, California and graduated from Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts. Prior to his law school career, he served for seven years in the United States Army, most recently as an infantry officer in the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York. Since leaving active duty and starting his law school career, Tom has assumed various leadership positions in the community. Currently, he serves as the New Jersey State Field Operations Leader for Team Rubicon USA, a nation-wide nonprofit that recruits, organizes, trains, and deploys military veterans to disaster sites in the United States and around the world. As a member of Team Rubicon, Tom has deployed throughout the country and continues to take an active role in Team Rubicon\u2019s ongoing COVID-19 response. Additionally, he is a current New Jersey Search and Rescue team member and AmeriCorps alumnus. At Seton Hall Law, Tom serves as Treasurer for the Student Veterans Association and an ambassador for Service to School (S2S), a nonprofit helping veterans and service members gain admission to college or graduate school. Tom spent his 1L summer as a judicial extern for Judge Steven C. Mannion, United States Magistrate Judge for the District of New Jersey and is currently employed as a law clerk at Breslin & Breslin, P.A. in Hackensack, New Jersey. Throughout law school, Willy has primarily focuses his studies around food and drug law. In the last year, Willy has authored two articles that have been selected for law review publications. His first article, Attack of the Clones: An Examination and Critique of FDA\u2019s Medical Device Regulatory Scheme, is forthcoming in the next issue of the Tennessee Journal of Law & Policy. His second article, How To Get Away With Immunity: FDA\u2019s Emergency Use Authorization Scheme and PREP Act Liability Protection in the Context of COVID-19, is forthcoming in the next issue of the Loyola Consumer Law Review and has been listed on SSRN\u2019s Top Ten Download List. In addition to his legal scholarship, Willy is involved with the Interscholastic Moot Court Board, the Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Board, and serves as a Research Assistant with the Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Alex is originally from Enfield, Connecticut, and graduated summa cum laude <\/em>from Castleton University in 2020 with a BA in both Political Science and Honors History. His interest in public policy stemmed from his undergraduate studies under Dr. Rich Clark and Dr. Melisse Pinto of the Castleton Political Science department. His love for health and wellness enveloped sports played in childhood, especially baseball and basketball, and his pursuit of powerlifting as both an athlete since 2016 and coach since 2019.<\/p>

The COVID-19 pandemic and the policies surrounding it married his distinct interests of public policy and sports\/wellness. While his love for powerlifting and nutrition were not impacted by the pandemic, Alex saw the need for better health preventive measures among individuals and support from the United States\u2019 governmental entities in facilitating it. He is using his Advanced Writing Requirement to explore public policy of the contentious issue of opioid use and physicians\u2019 prescription of them.<\/p>

An avid fan of movies, sports, and music, Alex hopes to pursue a legal career in intellectual property, business, or health law.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Dan grew up in Cedar Grove, New Jersey and graduated from the University of Delaware in 2014 with a B.S. in Finance. Prior to law school, he worked as a Junior Financial Analyst at Healthfirst, a not-for-profit health insurer that covers beneficiaries throughout the New York City region. While at Healthfirst, Dan analyzed and reported on patient and pharmaceutical cost trends, claim results, and performance metrics for in-network hospitals. He also worked at BSE Global, the parent company of Barclays Center and the Brooklyn Nets, as a Market Research Analyst and as Manager of Partnership Marketing & Analytics. Upon deciding to attend law school, Dan worked as a Legal Intern at Mandelbaum Salsburg, P.C. (now Mandelbaum Barrett, P.C.), where he assisted on various white-collar litigation matters. After his 1L year, he worked as a Summer Law Clerk for The Honorable Nancy M. Bannon in the New York State Supreme Court\u2019s 1st Judicial District. Following his 2L year and during the fall of his 3L year, he worked at Soriano, Henkel, Biehl, & Matthews, P.C. in Roseland as a Law Clerk. In his role, he drafted memorandums and briefs, contributed to depositions and hearings, and generated research relating to pending litigation involving real estate, family, and business structure issues. Outside of academics, Dan enjoys spending time with family and friends, is a devoted sports fan, and is an avid reader of the Wall Street Journal. He has a keen interest in public policy and has been a member of the Young Leaders Circle and the Adam Smith Society at the Manhattan Institute since 2019. Michele grew up in Illinois and graduated from the University of St. Francis in 1988 with a BA in Mathematics. She received her Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree in Biostatistics from Columbia University\u00a0 in 2002 and her MBA degree from New York University in 2011. Michele graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law with a JD degree in 2021 as a member of the first graduating class of the part-time Weekend Program. Her specific interests are Public Health Law and Food and Drug Law.\u00a0 Michele has been working in the pharmaceutical industry for 30 years within various clinical development functions, including biostatistics and medical writing. In her current role as a senior director of global processes and standards in Global Clinical Quality, she collaborates with many stakeholders in clinical development to ensure that company policies, procedures, and standards in the clinical development area are in compliance with relevant laws and health authority regulations in countries and regions worldwide, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and requirements of the International Council for Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
